Superior Staff
Dogwood Forest of Alpharetta understands that it takes a warm, gentle and loving person to cater to the needs of seniors. We also know there is an abundance of clinical research that links optimistic care givers with positive outcomes in seniors. So, at Dogwood Forest, we not only hire the most professional and caring individuals...we hire the most optimistic ones too.
We take great satisfaction in the abilities of our staff and strive to provide them with guidance and continuous training so they are equipped with the latest insights and programs currently available in senior care.
Superior Training
Dogwood Forest sponsors the Second Wind Dreams’
Virtual Dementia Tour (VDT), a program allowing participants to experience
the effects of aging on memory impaired seniors and simulates macular degeneration, arthritis,
and physical limitations.
All of our associates complete a 20-hour program titled S.E.L.F. Advanced Training. The program teaches Person Centered Care and Relationship instruction.
S – Stimulate to the highest level of participation
E – Encourage success and fun in everything they do
L – Learn from them and honor them as themselves
F – Foster positive relationships
Originally
designed for Alzheimer’s and Dementia care, we recognized the
value of this training and saw how Person Centered Care can be applied
towards all assisted living residents. Dogwood Forest is one of only
a few assisted living companies in Georgia that invest in their staff
with this acclaimed program.
For residents with Alzheimer’s, Dementia and other memory impairment
conditions, the S.E.L.F. program and Second Wind Dreams’ Virtual
Dementia Tour are just two of several that Dogwood Forest uses to educate
and train associates. Certified training available from the Alzheimer’s
Association and up-to-date research are a sampling of the other tools
we utilize for staff education.
At Dogwood Forest, residents and caregivers develop close relationships.
We are extremely proud of the dedication and loyalty exhibited by our
associates.
